The Acutherm Pressure Relief Collar (ARC) provides a simple and inexpensive solution when duct pressures are higher than desired. When the diffuser reduces air flow, the pressure at the diffuser’s inlet increases. The ARC’s dual shutters are designed to gradually open in response to pressures in excess of approx.  0.25”wg / 62Pa and allow some of the supply air to escape into the return air plenum. Requires plenum (non-ducted) return air systems.
