We make buildings more comfortable places to be.
With each Therma-Fuser™ VAV diffuser acting as an individual VAV zone of control, every area of a building can have separate, optimized temperature settings. The individual occupant selects a personal comfort setting and average temperature is maintained within 1½°F/0.9°C.
Therma-Fuser VAV diffusers also provide a constant discharge velocity with comfort benefits of higher throws, no dumping, better room air movement and uniform temperature distribution.
Unlike fixed opening diffusers, which dump cold air on occupants at low volumes, the variable air opening within all Therma-Fuser diffuser models creates high air velocity even at lower supply volumes. This maintains the Coanda effect where high velocity air hugs an adjacent surface, holding cold air up to the ceiling and prevents dumping.
In the sidebar illustration, helium bubbles are injected into the air stream and captured using high speed photography. This image is merged with infrared thermal data. Note how the loss of the Coanda effect in traditional systems stratifies the room temperature when the system is turned down.
